Mass Audubon: Mass Audubon works to protect the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife.

Sierra Club: Protects the environment through legislative advocacy and educational campaigns.

Wachusett Greenways: Wachusett Greenways is a grass roots team of volunteers working to expand a network of trails and open spaces linking our communities. Volunteers opportunities include: trail clearing and maintenance, planting, grant writing, fundraising, and tour guides.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest: BBBS's mission it to enhance the quality of life of children at risk and their families, by matching these children in professionally supported mentoring relationships with responsible and caring volunteers.

Boys and Girls Club of America: Helping youth through various programs and services.

CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocate help abuse and neglected children navigate the Worcester County Juvenile Courts.

Children’s Friend Inc.: Improving the lives of children and families who have been affected by difficulties including abuse, neglect, family instability, death, substance abuse, and mental, emotional, and physical problems.

Edward Street Child Services: Providing advocacy, educational services and technical resources to Worcester area child care providers.

Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts: Provides programs to girls ages 5-17 through activities that build character, skills for success, strong values, social conscience, conviction, and self worth.

Girls Inc.: Offers quality research based programs in a safe environment and provides opportunities for girls to take healthy risks, build leadership skills, and master physical, intellectual, social, and emotional challenges.

Guild of St. Agnes of Worcester: Provides affordable quality early childhood education programs in a safe and nuturing environment for children 4 weeks to 12 years.

Head Start: Committed to providing a dynamic, collaborative process through which head start programs advocate for excellence and form partnerships with the community at large.

Mass Mentoring Partnership: An organization dedicated to growing quality mentoring to meet the needs of youth across Massachusetts. Become a mentor.

Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children: An organization dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of childeren through direct services to children and families and public advocacy on their behalf.

Partnerships for Success seeks mentors: Partnerships for Success matches college students with a member of the Worcester Youth Center ages 14-21 in an effort to help them recognize and achieve their personal career or educational goals through positive, trusting relationships. Participants meet weekly at the Worcester Youth Center; each meeting revolves around educational and career goals. Rainbow Child Development Center: Providing comprehensive childcare services for children in a safe, nurturing environment.

SWAGLY: Provides a safe place for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning youth and their straight allies 14-23 to learn, play, and socialize.

Worcester Youth Center: The Worcester Youth Center is and educational, recreational, and social facility, for youth between the ages of 14-24.

Youth Opportunities Upheld (Y.O.U. inc.): This agency provides a wide range of social, psychological, educational, vocational, and other preventive and rehabilitative programs for troubled youth and their families.

Multi Service/Other

American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts: a humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Community Harvest Project: Community Harvest Project brings together volunteers to grow healthy vegetables on their farms which are donated for hunger relief.

Community Legal Aid: Legal services organization that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income and elderly individuals who reside in Worcester County.

Family Services of Central Massachusetts: Helping families through child care resources, counseling services, employee assistance program, home care and elder services, and senior companion program.

Friendly House: Multi-service community agency which supports local residents, recent immigrants, and runs a youth basketball league.

Jewish Family Services of Worcester: Providing child and family counseling, guardianship to elders, adoption, geriatric care management, family mediation, parent education programs, consultation to schools and professionals.

MADD - Mothers Against Drunk Driving: MADD's mission is to aid the victims of crimes perfomed by individuals driving under the influence of alchohol or drugs, to aid the families of such victims, and to increase public awareness of the problem of drinking and drugged driving.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation: Collects new, unwrapped toys during the three months preceding Christmas to distribute to needy children in the community.

Rachel's Table: Rachel's Table distributes donated and specially purchased foods, without charge, to agencies feeding hungry families and individuals in Greater Worcester.

Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts: Provides quality and multicultural services to those impacted by sexual assault ans also offers education geared towards ending violence.

RSVP Worcester Area Volunteers: RSVP provides quality volunteer opportunities for older adults.

United Way of Central Massachusetts: Connects people and resources to improve the community.

Worcester Community Action Council: WCAC's mission is helping people move to economic self sufficiency through programs, partnerships, and advocacy.

Worcester County Food Bank: WCFB works to prevent hunger in Central Massachusetts by acquiring and distributing food through a network of agencies and through  public advocacy and nutrition education.

YMCA of Central Massachusetts: Improves the health and wellness of children, teens, families, and seniors in 41 town throughout Central Massachusetts.

YWCA of Central Mass: The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.


Aid’s Project Worcester: Provides a comprehensive range of services to support the medical care and various service needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and those at greatest risk for the disease.

American Cancer Society: Make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Brookhaven Hospice: Brookhaven Hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life through compassionate care for individuals and families facing an end of life illness.

Community Healthlink: Provides mental health and substance abuse recovery services to adults, families, and children.

Cystic Fibrosis Walk: Walk to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research.

Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center: Language/cultural appropriate comprehensive medical, dental, mental health, health education, and social services provided to low-income minority, refugee/immigrant populations of Greater Worcester.

Family Health Center of Worcester: Provides high quality, comprehensive, and continious primary health care, dental, and social services respectfully and compassionately in the context of patients' family, culture, and community.

Genesis Club: The mission of genesis club is to assist individuals with a mental illness attain employment, housing, wellness, and friendships.

Heart Walk: Walk and raise money to help fight heart disease and stroke.

Medical Reserve Corps of Massachusetts: The organization brings together people who have skills related to health care as well as citizens volunteering to serve as a team during times of emergency or need in their own community.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Massachusetts: The mission of NAMI Massachusetts is to improve the quality of life both for people with mental illnesses and for their families.

Pernet Family Health Services: Serves the maternal-child health needs of low-income families in Worcester through home based nursing and comprehensive social services.

Special Olympics: Provides year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of well coached Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

VNA Care Hospice, Inc.: Hospice volunteers work directly with terminally ill patients and their families by offering practical and emotional support to those facing a terminal illness.

W.H.Y. M.E. Worcester Help for Youth, Memorials Everlasting (known as Sherry's House): Why Me is a Worcester based non-profit organization created to help central New England Families cope with childhood cancer.

Worcester Free Medical Programs: The UMASS Medical School student coordinators at the Worcester Free Medical Programs ( are looking for volunteers to join a team to research and execute the implementation of an electronic medical record as part of a quality improvement initiative funded by a community service grant. No experience necessary but technical savvy and motivation required. Position would require at least a few hours per week to start but would potentially decrease soon after or be handed off. Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance: Provides homelessness prevention services, counseling, and mediation based on landlord/tenant rights and provides emergency rental and utility arrearage assistance.

Horizon for Homeless Children: An organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless children and their families.

Veteran’s Inc.: Veterans Inc.’s mission is to help veterans regain control of their lives, so we can eliminate homelessness among veterans.

Senior Services

Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging: CMAA’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for area seniors and their caregivers.

Elder Services of Worcester Inc.: Their primary goal is to keep eligible elders safe at home for as long as is possible.
