Recycling Improves on Campus

For the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2010 the campus posted an annual recycling rate of nearly 23 percent, as measured by tonnage of waste material leaving the campus. In the first four months of the current fiscal year, the rate has jumped to 30 percent.

More Preferred Parking Spots for Carpoolers

Historically, the single biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions attributed to the Medical School’s Worcester campus has been the car tailpipes of people who drive to campus each day, often one person per car.

Growing Green at the Statehouse

The Medical School was honored recently at the Massachusetts Statehouse with the presentation of a 2010 Leading by Example Award from the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs in recognition of the school’s successful initiatives to improve energy efficiency and sustainability on campus.
