Thomas Houston

Dr. Thomas Houston, Chief of the Division of Health Informatics and Implementation Science in the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences, was elected to Fellowship in the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) and was honored for this distinction at the Society’s 31st Annual Meeting in Seattle Washington in April 2010. The Society of Behavioral Medicine is a multidisciplinary, non-profit organization whose members are clinicians, educators, and scientists dedicated to promoting the study of the interactions of behavior with biology and the environment, and the application of that knowledge to improve health. Each year, SBM elects fellow. In all, there are approximately 200 senior scientists who have been elected fellows since the Society’s origin in 1978, including Dr. Judy Ockene from UMass.

Dr. Houston has been the chair of the Behavioral Informatics Special Interest group for the past six years.
