Date Posted: September 17, 2010

Melissa Matzelle, PhD student, will give an oral presentation at the American College of Rheumatology national meeting in Atlanta, Georgia in a Concurrent Session on RA pathogenesis. Melissa is studying pathogenic mechanisms of articular bone destruction in arthritis in Dr. Ellen Gravallese's laboratory. Her work has demonstrated that bone destruction can be repaired by osteoblasts as inflammation resolves, and this repair is accompanied by specific alterations in components of the Wnt signaling pathway.
