As of 7/1/08, UMass Medical School/UMass Memorial Health Care, Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking board-eligible or certified psychiatrists for positions in Worcester and at our affiliated sites in Central Massachusetts. Our faculty work in diverse private and public inpatient unit hospitals and outpatient clinics, providing a broad range of clinical expertise. Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Child and  Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatrist

 WHAT, NO MANAGED CARE???  The UMass Adolescent Treatment Program is a 30 bed continuing care inpatient facility that is level funded by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and contracted through the University of Massachusetts Medical School (hence, NO MANAGED CARE!)  This is a dynamic program, which has been in existence for over 20 years. The program is sited on the grounds of Westborough State Hospital.    It is a continuing care/extended care facility treating adolescents who have been referred through Department of Mental Health.  Patients range in age from thirteen to nineteen.  This population is culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse.  Assessment and treatment of patients is provided with a multidisciplinary approach.  Because of the demonstrated level of need, patients typically stay on average 10-12 months allowing for extensive clinical services.  This includes psychopharmacological intervention, individual, group and family therapies as well as occupational, recreational and milieu treatments. 

 This is a full time, 40 hour per week position within the Department of Psychiatry at the UMass Medical School, located in Westborough, Ma.  WHAT, NO MANAGED CARE???  The UMass Behaviorally Intensive Residential Treatment Program (BIRT) is a 15 bed continuing care residential treatment program that is level funded by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and contracted through the University of Massachusetts Medical School (hence, NO MANAGED CARE!)  This is a dynamic program, which has been in existence for over 10 years.
